LESSON #4: Building a Squeeze Page!

In the previous lesson we learned what a squeeze page is,
and what it does.
Today we're going to get our hands dirty (OK, maybe not),
and we're going to go through the process of creating a
squeeze page...
I have created a free PDF report that teaches you the main
components of a squeeze page and have also included a software
you will need to create your first squeeze page. The link is
inside the PDF manual below. Please click link to read;
- You can build a squeeze page using almost any platform or
tool you're using for your website.
- Two main formats for short-copy squeeze pages...
1) Linear  (like the sample in the PDF manual above)
2) Side-by-side (Like my Ecommerce training website squeeze page)
- It's generally best to have no distractions on your confirmation page.
The objective is to get the prospect to COMPLETE the double opt-in,
so you should show and tell them how to do that.
- The download page for your freebie can be monetized with offers for
your own product(s) and with affiliate links.
- Be sure to test your squeeze page by doing a live walk-through of the
entire opt-in process.
If you know how to use Microsoft Frontpage, you may download for free
this free squeeze page template and edit it to your taste and use on
your website.
http://www.downlinetraining.quickinternetdownline.com/tutorials/squeezetemplate.zip
(It's a zipped file. Use Winzip or Windows XP to access file)

Action steps:
1) Create a squeeze page.
2) Create a confirmation page.
3) Create a download page for your freebie.
4) Get it all online and test it.

In the next lesson we're going to learn how to upload to a hosting
account for your business..

LESSON #3: Introduction to Squeeze Pages!

In the previous lesson we looked at how to set up an opt-in
list, to capture your prospects onto an email newsletter list.

Today we're going to shift our focus to your website entry page,
and we'll start by talking about squeeze pages...
A squeeze page is a part of a website, usually the entrance to
the Internet marketers website.
However, for the purpose of clarity, I will use pointers for
easy comprehension.
- Squeeze Page: a landing page designed to collect the email
address (at a minimum) of the visitor, through an opt-in form.
- Squeeze pages have one objective: getting the visitor to opt-in.
- Prioritizing Squeeze Pages vs. Sales Pages
In most cases, you will make more money by sending the majority of
your traffic (website visitors) to a squeeze page instead of a sales
page. There may be some exceptions, and of course it should be tested.
- Long squeeze page copy vs. Short squeeze page copy
In most cases, shorter is better.
Short copy presents the visitor with a clear value proposition and
keeps the opt-in above the fold.
- Essential ingredients of a squeeze page:
1) Attention-getter (Headline)
2) Benefits (What they get and how it helps them)
3) Call to action (Enter your name, GSM and email)
4) Opt-in form
- How much information should you collect?
The more information you collect, the smaller the percentage of
visitors that will opt in.
The less information you collect, the greater the percentage of
opt-ins.
The more information you collect, the more valuable the lead.
(More ways to market to them, and possibility of lead brokering)
- Using freebies/incentives on your squeeze pages:
Physical product:
-CD/DVD
-book/report
Digital product:
-article
-video
-newsletter/ezine
-e-course
-report
-ebook
-membership
-software
Give away something of VALUE to your prospect that will...
-truly help them
-prove your credibility
-build their trust
-leave them thirsting for more (so you can sell your product)
What kind of people do you want on your list? (Who is your ideal prospect?)
What you give away will affect who ends up on your list. Give away
something that will attract your IDEAL prospect.
- If you haven't yet signed up for a list hosting service, I recommend
AWeber Communications. (If you are already a customer, I will give you
a professional autoresponder like Aweber for free, just tell me what
you have purchased from me in the past and It's all yours)
Action steps:
1) Determine what your ideal prospect looks like.
2) Decide what you're going to give away to get them on your list.
Once you've got those things figured out, it's time to build your squeeze page.
We'll be doing that in the next lesson.
In the next lesson we're going to learn how to set up a squeeze page - the
machine responsible for adding subscribers to your List online.

LESSON #2: Setting Up Your Opt-In List!

In the previous lesson we started talking about list building.
Today we're going to dig into it, as we set up an email opt-in list...
Because of the nature of today's training email, I have included
a short 12 page PDF manual where I show you screenshots of how I
logged into my Aweber account and created an opt-in list.
You must have Adobe Reader on your system to be able to access the
files.
Take note that this tutorial is based on my International clients
for one of my websites, but the principles remain the same.
- If you haven't yet signed up for a list hosting service, I recommend
AWeber Communications. (If you are already a customer, I will give you
a professional autoresponder like Aweber for free, just tell me what
you have purchased from me in the past and It's all yours)
- For additional education on list building, please see my List Building Pack
http://www.quickinternetdownline.com/joeworkshop
Action steps:
1) Set up your opt-in list.
2) Put an opt-in form on your website.
In the next lesson we're going to learn what a squeeze page is.

LESSON #1: INTRODUCTION TO LIST BUILDING!

Information marketing has a lot of areas that must be understood
properly before a consistent monthly income can be generated from
it.
I'm going to start from the areas that matters most, now I'm not
going to start from product development, website development,
copy writing, niche research and product packaging.
While the above areas are very important in the information
publishing business, you can be very successful without
knowing anything about any of them.
I know you may not believe me, but that is the HARD TRUTH!
So I'm going to start with areas that you MUST learn in other
to succeed in email marketing.
That area is List-Building.
Today we're getting into what I consider to be the "heart and soul"
of internet marketing.
We're talking about... list building!
If you know how to build an email list very well, all you need to
do to build a relationship with that list, is "words".
Fortunately, "words" are free! You can write impressive articles,
life experiences and helpful information that will help your
audience to benefit in your chosen niche market.
When you build strong relationships with people in your email list,
money will flow to you from the relationship you have built when
this people buy a product you recommend.
And that is why Internet marketers always use this phrase
"The money is in the list."
That phrase is only true when you have succeeded in building a high
quality list through the quality of information you pass on to your
list members.
Here are pointers I'm going to use to make you easily understand
what List Building is all about.
- A list is comprised of real people (not just numbers), and should
be treated as such.
- Types of marketing contact lists...
- e-Mail
- Telephone
- Fax
- Mobile phones/SMS
- Social media
- (New types of lists will evolve as new methods of communication sprout)
- ANY combination of the above

Email marketing is what we will focus on for this business, because...
1) It's an effective way to capture and manage leads online.
2) It creates web traffic on demand.
3) It's here to stay. (In spite of rumors!)
4) It has a low start up cost, and is very cost effective.
Here is how to get an email list...
1) Buy it
2) Build it (recommended)
Some basic requirements of an email marketing platform...
- Receiving your opt-ins (leads or subscribers) from your website
- Sending broadcast emails
- Creating autoresponder sequences
- Managing email campaigns
- Handling subscription management
- Making sure your email gets delivered
Two options for your autoresponders:
- Hosted on your own site
- A specialized email host
Hosting your list on your own website is NOT recommended by me, for two reasons...
1) Spam compliance
2) Deliverability
Some email marketing service providers...
- Aweber
- GetResponse
- Infusionsoft
- iContact
- VerticalResponse
- Constant Contact
- Topica
My personal recommendation: Aweber Communications (which I've used since 2007)
Action steps:
1) Memorize this phrase: "The money is in the list".
2) Sign up for an email marketing service provider, such as AWeber,
or a free one here: http://www.sendfree.com
In the next lesson we're going to set up a list... step by step!
Watch out on Thursday for my next lessons.

BUSINESS CODES

DEADLY MARKETING MISTAKES

Being focused on you instead of on your market: Avoid copy that says, "we,us and
our" a lot. find a way to change that copy so that it says " you and yours." Speak about things that matters to your customer. Always ask and enquire from your customers. They know the answer.

Using a weak, wimpy or just plain Bad Headline: Make sure your headline is strong, aggressive and compelling.

Not Using Enough Bullets: Bullets break your copy into short readable burst, especially on the web, people tend to see before they read it. Breaking your copy into bullets increases the chances your copy will "catch the eye" and thus get read.

Using Bullets:
i. makes your copy easier to scan.
ii. makes it easier to pick out keywords and phrases.
iii. get more of your copy read.
iv. makes you more sales.
v. the more the better.

Using Big Words and Jargon: Using big words and jargon might sound impressive but it won't get you sales. Avoid jargon.

Using Weak Wimpy Or Just Plain Bad sub-Heads: you should use subheads every 3-4 paragraphs in your copy. Make subhead strong and compelling. Think of them as headlines for each section of your copy.
If read in sequence, your subheads should sound like an abbreviated version of your sales pitch (which is what they are). Subheads done carefully are a way to " stop the eye" catch the readers interest and get them to slow enough to read that section.
